Hi all,

I have seen a post that contains a list of abbreviations and acronyms somewhere around here, but it was mostly general internet jargon and not specific to the subject matter on this board. I'm fairly new in learning about addiction and even newer to the boards and I was wondering if there is another list out there that breaks down some of these abbreviations and acronyms. I find myself not being able to get the full story from some posts because I don't know what ESH or ES&H means. I know there are others that I can't seem to think of off the top of my head, but perhaps someone could fill me in or point me in the right direction? I think this will be helpful to me and other newbies who find themselves here.

CFDMama, it took me forever to understand the lingo too....at one time I thought lol meant little old lady.

I kept wondering what D stood for DH, DD. At first I thought it was divorced, but that didnt work for daughter. And there is another one STBXAH, I think Ive seen a few not on the list, but this helps a lot .

XAH= Ex addict husband

C= Codependent/Codie
CA= Co-Addict
RC= Recovering codependent/ a type of cola
CID= Codependent in Denial
LBC= Low bottom Codie
HBC= High bottom Codie
IANCBISTTTATA= I am NOT codependent but I’m sicker than those that admit they are
ATA= Addicted to addict
ATL= Addicted to love
ATD= Addicted to drama
CF= Control freak
CBNLYC= Codependent but NOT like YOU codependents
