Plasticinsanity in the substance abuse forum needs your help!
 

Hi, there is a poster in the substance abuse forum that needs your help.
She is an addict that is trying to recover, but is having a hard time because her sister and bf are using. They have a child and the poster is close to her niece and cares for her when her sis and sis boyfriend get high. Very hard for her to leave the situation. She says she can't post in friend and family because she is an addict. If anyone here is familiar with this type of situation and can advise her on what to do please post. I cannot offer any advice. Thanks

As far as I know, a recovering addict has the freedom to post on this forum...she's trying, as we all are. I have no advice except to have her call Child Protective Services--immediately. She doesn't have to disclose her issues to the county. She's just making a report about a child in harm's way, and that child is in a very terrible and unfair situation.

We have lots and lots of "double winners" here, who are in recovery from addiction and also codependency. I admire them very much for sharing their stories here.

If she is still in active addiction, she may want to keep posting in Substance Abuse, but if she is clean then she would be very welcome here.
