I was cleaning out my closet this morning and this song came on my chosen Pandora Radio Station and it grabbed my attention. It sounded like the conversation that takes place in the codependent mind. One minute trying to justify why they stay with the addict and the next minute complaining to (or about) the addict blaming them for their woes. Back and forth back and forth.......confusion......anxiety.....pleading... ...sad.....mad....loving....hating. But most of all, feeling that no one else could possibly understand.
Every single person here on SR HAS SEEN the way he or she loves you. We've seen it in the eyes of the addicts in our own lives.
You are not alone. We all understand. And we all know it's not easy to love someone so much that it turns you inside out.
There is hope. There is serenity. When you're ready.
