SpeedyJason, I pray and believe that you will come through this, stronger and happier than you have ever been. You have been through so much and somehow coped through it all. It seems as if you are going through the dark night of the soul and that sunshine and light is waiting for you on the other side. Just try and hang in there for a little while longer.
So many people love and care about you.

Just as an update, they are going to bring ((Jay)) out of the coma today and see how he does. There is a chance he may have more seizures and they would put him back out, but there's also a chance he won't.
His family is extremely grateful for all the people here who love and support ((Jay)).
Hugs and prayers,
Amy

They are transferring ((Jay)) to an epilepsy specialty center, probably today or tomorrow as he's still having seizures and he needs more specialized care.
Most of you know, but ((Kirby)) is updating us on the henhouse thread (in SA forum) under ((Jay's)) screen name.
Please keep them all in your prayers.

Went to the hen house thread and read the updates about SpeedyJason. The status updates got me teary. Pulling for you Jay to come through this. A lot of people love and care about you.
God bless you, Jay. The world needs more good hearts like yours.
Can anyone bring his kitty to visit with him? And....any chance he can have a therapy dog that alerts to seizures?
I don't know Jay but I know he loves his pets. The animals know how good he is.

((EG)) - He's been transferred and a very good neighbor is taking care of the kitty, and the dog is at ((Kirby's)) house and since they are with ((Jay)), a neighbor is taking care of his dog and theirs.
I'd thought about your idea of a therapy dog. His dog is a lab, and very smart, and I wouldn't doubt he could be trained to alert to seizures. As it is, he has stuck like glue to ((Jay)) any time he had a seizure, for about an hour or until he "knows dad is okay". Labs are known to be very good therapy dogs and Moose is still young, so that's a good possibility.
Thanks again for all the prayers and thoughts. Latest update is on the henhouse.

hi everyone. I'm Jay's sister, Kirby. I have yet to make an appearance on this thread cause I stick to the henhouse one really but I want to (and Jay too) thank you for all the continued support. after a long process of weaning Jay off of certain sedatives and the ventilator, they were finally able to do the last test needed before they could go ahead and operate. due to the area they need to operate on, it may affect his speech moderately, called aphasia. he will still be able to understand language but speaking and writing in a coherent or fluent fashion may be difficult until another part of his brain picks up the slack (fixes itself over time) or another possibility would be to go to speech therapy. we're hoping the damage will be mild but the doctors have prepared us to expect at least some issues with. Jay seems to be ready for whatever happens cause when he heard this he said, "I was never good at english anyways." . we're all a little apprehensive about the surgery but we are confident in his neurosurgeon and know he will be fine.
the surgery is scheduled tonight at 7:00pm (CNT) and will take 4-6 hours. please keep Jay in good thoughts. if all goes well, he should be able to come home with us in 3 to 4 days.
