"At the End of the Road" by Tim White. ISBN#: 978-0-9859177-0-8.
Just finished & I found helpful. This book is one man's story of entering into the depths of addiction & coming out on top. To feed his addiction he committed many crimes & served time in prison. Every time you think he has learned his lesson, he is right back at it again.
His recovery isn't defined my one moment but by an accumilation of moments that led up to the right place at the right time.
I especially appreciated this story b/c it shows how an addicts thinking is so different from everyone else. Even when an addict isn't using drugs, they still think like an "addict" with their selfish behavior. It isn't until someone is in active recovery that there thought process begins to change.
My brother has been sober in the past but I could never understand why he still did "bad" things and appeared to be a "bad" person. I now understand that like the author, my brother, is not "bad," just lost & in need of proper guidance.
