Why is the answer always "tomorrow?"
((Natsy)) - Back when I was using, I was always planning on getting clean "some day". I wasn't yet ready to give up the "life" of using, to put in the work of recovery. Tomorrow and some day turned into years.
Thanks to recovery for addiction and codependence, I've learned that today may be all I have. There are no guarantees of a tomorrow. When the A's in my life say something similar, I just ignore it. Words are cheap, actions speak volumes.
Hugs and prayers,
Amy

Hi Natsy,
I think the concept of “tomorrow” fits right in with understanding the stages we go through to make change happen in our lives. Im going to attach a link to “Understanding the Stages of Change”. It helped me in the past when I found myself frustrated over “why so slow” !!

Oh, you just know me too well. My motto was always "‘Never do to-day what you can put off till tomorrow."
My college roommates always called me Scarlett. They loved when I had tests or papers due because even back then I would have to clean before I could sit down and focus. I was the last minute, all night crammer who made Dean's list list and it drove them nuts. I guess when I was younger, working under pressure worked well for me. But today in my recovery, I try never to procrastinate (except smoking) because it leads to unwanted stress....and let's be honest....I am too old now for any added stress in my life.
