Ok , I know this is weird. I found a new product to wash my face with. It was pricey.Bought it impulsivley, but I LOVE the way it makes my face feel, and the scent is so clean and yummy. I am so content with the fact that something as mundane as washing my face with this stuff has me super excited. I never could have afforded it in the past due to excessive spending on alcohol for my ABF. I am living a very stress free exsistence lately and it rocks!!!

That is wonderful. Good for you!

It's cheap and it keeps my hands busy! It engages that part of the brain where time stands still. It's like a vacation!

Take a class or look at any of the tons of instructional videos on You Tube to get inspired!
I know, I love YouTube for lessons on just about anything.

What do you glue the collage material on? I've seen some glued onto an artists' canvas. I saw a cute one on pinterest.com done for a child's room with pics cut from a used children's book. It was soooo cute. I think it was Dr. Suess. Hey that is a way to use up all those paintings that don't work out. Just collage over them!!!

Oh I go and hang out at pinterest for a vacation for my mind. It is so cool looking at all the ideas there.

I collage onto anything that sits still:

canvas
cigar boxes
unfinished wood gizmos from the craft store
old wood picture frames
jars
watercolor paper
etc.

Last night when I got home from work I took a few minutes before it got dark and helped my 5 year old ride her bike and then I let my 10 year old teach me how to shoot his BB gun. It was nice not to worry about housework, etc, and just enjoy my kids even if just for a few minutes.

This is the best thread! I'm not going to thank each post now, because I was smiling and happy ready every single one of them. Plus laughed out loud a few times.

Decided I want to perfect the 5 mother sauces so I pulled out the Joy of Cooking. I made my first real Béchamel sauce today. So simple yet so delicious. Turned a bit into a truffled cheese sauce.

That sounds like a lot of fun. I think I'm going to try it. Come to think of it once I saw someone on t.v. collage a smaller vintage suitcase. It was gorgeous. I was only thinking in terms of a picture but you could make anything look cool.

I think I'll Google collages and see if I can get some starter ideas.

Whoo hoo a hobby. I had been thinking that I needed to get a hobby.

Kari

P.S. Just a thought that a thrift shop or garage sale would be a good place to look for things to use or collage materials.

I think we more than deserve to think about US.

Your sauce idea is a good one. I am working on making delicious veggies. A sort of veggie expert. I also wish I could make a good pitcher of iced tea. For some reason mine never turns out right so I quit trying years ago. I just get it at restaurants. How tough could it be though? Back to the drawing board at some point I guess, lol.

I took my gorgeous 5 year old for a swim.... and then that night we watched the full moon rise above the trees - my son was hoping to see wizards!

Oh that's darling!

We used to see two of our grandkids a lot (at one point they even lived with us) but since they are in school and living with their mom we don't see them nearly as much. Just last night we decided to go to their house and get them on my husband's evening off once or twice a month and take them to dinner or whatever we can think of to do. We still see them about every two weeks but this would be just grandparent time.

today, I went to the park and acted a fool all by myself I had my headphones, my Ipod and god. I sang "his eye is on the sparrow" among others at the top of my lungs because it made me happy and did cartwheels in the grass. Im sure the people who saw mw thought I was nuts, lol!!!! but I struggle with what people think of me a lot and it was so awesome to just go and have fun and enjoy my alone time.
