For the past 2 months I have posted a couple different times searching for advice on whether or not I should visit my brother in jail at Christmas; he is supposed to be in jail thru Feb.

Well, I looked online yesterday & it appears he was released with a suspended sentence, SERIOUSLY! (WTF) Every time he gets in trouble, somehow he eventually gets out of it. How does he do this? All it said online is that my brother wrote the Judge a letter & that his sentence was suspended. Either the jail is overcrowded or something else is going on. My brother has a rap sheet dating back to 1998, so how or why would he be released?

At least now I don't have to worry about visiting him, however, I prefer he was still in there.

Well, that's one less thing you have to do on Christmas Day. He's not your problem, unless you chose to make it your problem.

I don't intend to sound bitter, but you have been worried about him being in jail at Christmas - turning yourself inside out about it. Yet he didn't think enough about you to even let you know he was released - you had to find out about it online. It's sad, really, to see how inconsequential we are to them - until, of course, they need something from us.
