The next step: go to a meeting
 

Through this forum I have gone from naive to 'hello, wake up smell the drug', or actually face up to what is happening in my life. you all have been so very helpful. I just want to encourage everyone, especially those of you new to this, find an AL-ANON or NAR-ANON meeting. I have never walked into a room and bonded with people so immediately as with this meeting. We, you, are not alone, others are experiencing this - what, not sure what to call it, detour from the wonderful easy life we thought we would have - Going to a meeting has helped me greatly - it is safe, there is no judgement, there is only recognition - when I talked about tracking down my kid in the inner city, there were nods of understanding - been there, done that, no more. While this forum is so helpful, go meet some people face to face. it will help.
