Starve the Vampire (aka going no contact)
I identified with all that you wrote. The addicts will try all forms of manipulation to get us to do what they want. They will keep the promises coming and never follow through. It's an emotional roller coaster. We really begin our recovery with we decide to get off the ride.

They don't move on to easier prey because they already have us insnared in their grips... I found that with my ex NC was the only way that I could heal myself... The dummy still tries to contact me 8 months later, not because he wants me back but because he apparently has nothing better to do then to try and harass me... I've blocked three phone numbers now that belong to him.. Pay as you go phones are hell to go NC too lol
I was scanning through the threads trying to catch up a bit from being away for awhile and was delighted to see the bump on this one! I struggled for SO long to go "no contact" and it wasn't until June, 2013 that I finally was strong enough to completely withstand the onslaught of his contacting me. And it definitely worked - he moved on and became involved with his next victim when he finally got it that I was truly done. It is uncanny how they can "smell it" on you when you truly are done.
