Child Support
Just curious if anyone knows how things work as far as child support goes in Georgia. There is a previous order, but its old and we lived together again after it was in place. He is unemployed now, but sober having been off drugs for 2 weeks (or so I think, though I REALLY do not know. He doesnt live here). He has not paid support or bills in months and has been like a nomad. If I go to file child support, how do they determine the amount he will pay for two children when he is unemployed??
Thanks in advance

To the best of my knowledge, the previous order still stands. The fact that you lived together again doesn't change anything except that he probably wouldn't be charged for that time you did live together. The amount set for him to pay each month won't change until the children reach the age or majority or a new order is filed.
I suggest getting legal counsel to find out exactly what your rights are.

So if he never gets a job, I just never get the help? Will the court ever order him any mental health or substance abuse treatment?
