Money well spent as long as the "No more money ever and he will never, ever move in with us again" boundary sticks.

Given your past history, this will be very difficult.

Arm yourselves with knowledge.

Good luck.

Well we talked to them tonight and they pretty much figured we were going to ask them to leave. They were happy with the plan and so are we. The whole talk took about 3 minutes or so and it went about as smoothly as it could have gone.

I believe the solution you worked up together is very good. May not make implementing it less emotional; but it might. Hopefully since it was a mutual agreement; you and your husband can lean on each other for support, and there will be less tension now.

Good Luck.
We feel really good! So do they. If at all possible I didn't want to have hard feelings as there are grandchildren involved who I want to see regularly. Plus we do want him to succeed. Whether he will or not is up to him but it makes us much happier to have him elsewhere where he can make up his own mind how his life will go. Either way both my husband and I feel like we did everything possible we could do so now we are ready to let him go and see what happens.
