My sick, sick sense of humor
For background, my AD and her A boyfriend have been living with me for the past 3 months after meeting in rehab (yes, a match made in rehab). They have not been difficult to live with, no stealing or tantrums . . . just 2 relapses. The first relapse was rather short and they recovered cold turkey. They are now in their second relapse. This weekend they will once again go cold turkey.
But until they are clean, I have thrown them out of the house, but lent them an old tent that is now pitched in the field behind my house. I got up this morning to the sound of my helper mowing the yard. I stepped outside to see the old tent sagging under the weight of an inch of last night's rain, the family dog parked at the tent flap and my helper mowing circles around this scene. I laughed out loud.
Its so rare when you can see the true insanity of addiction and still manage a laugh.

lol AndreaB .... I would have laughed too,
I remember once sitting on a bench outside of a grocery store waiting to pay a drug dealer $80 so he wouldn't beat up my AS who was detoxing at my house and the pastor of a church I used to attend walked up and gave the obligatory "Heyyy Tina how are you?" and of course as so many people do just walked on without even waiting for the answer. I passed the time imagining his face had I actually answered honestly .... weird but I lolled about it for days

I was happy to share my little giggle. As some suggested, at the time I truly considered running for the camera, but then realized that I didn't want to preserve memories of this period of our lives (even the ludicrous ones).
As Tinks noted, because of our Addicts, we sometimes find ourselves thrust into never never land.
