Examples of today's "me" time...
Got my hair trimmed last week...today I got it colored (and my pink streak redone). This is never something I never would have done prior to recovery. I always put everyone else first! 
Got the works, so here is the rest!
That's my last pedicure of the year. I had never had a pedicure till this spring. I'm hooked now.

Awesomeness! I also never did sweet things for myself. Thankfully my wonderful daughter "makes" me treat myself.
So, for the beginning of the school year fun hair foils; PURPLE toenails and fun new clothes.
Pedis RULE indeed.

There have been many changes I have also
experienced in my 22 yrs sobriety. However,
going for a manicure or pedicure isnt one of
them. Nor a massage.
I admire pretty
fingernails that are unusally painted or out of
the ordinary decorated with jewels and glitter.

Me, as of the past 6 yrs, 50ish yrs old and
22yrs sobriety, I remarried after 25 yrs, learned
to ride a motorcycle, got my endorsement,
piercings, and many lovely tattoos.
Each day I am sober I look forward to experiencing
many more awesome gifts in recovery down the road
and when least expected. Surprises are always fun.
