So sorry to hear about your daughter. As a rape survivor, I can tell you that it is a long process yo heal from the mental and emotional scars. All types of phobias can manifest after trauma. I hope your daughter heals in the healthiest way possible. It's common for loved ones to feel angry, sad, and denial about what has happened. I hope you have a good support system. Very sorry for your daughter. I am also a survivor of rape. It took me a very long time to deal with it and it was a difficult and long process. There are really no words to express what a personally painful and traumatizing event it can be. Whether someone is an addict or not they do not EVER deserved to be raped and my thoughts are with your daughter and with you.

I am so incredibly sorry this happened. I'm angry, and I'm terribly sad for you and for her too. I hope she's able to latch onto the support that's been offered... and I hope she feels some comfort in the great number of prayers going up for her from all over the world.

Life will go on. I am going to work, and so is she. I hope she uses the resources presented to her yesterday for help. I can't be the one to help her process this.
