I normally would do this in PM, but since the original poster of this statement does not accept PM's, I will do this here.....
The following statement was posted here recently......:
"...Actually, as everyone on SR probably already knows, Sam Shoemaker was an Episcopal priest who co-founded AA with Bill Wilson. (You can google it to find out more.)..."
Yes, do google. Sam Shoemaker was an Episcopal priest who led the American branch of the Oxford Group and influenced the founders of Alcoholics Anonymous (Bill Wilson attended Oxford Group meetings at the Calvary Church. Sam Shoemaker also helped start an Oxford Group chapter in Akron, Ohio, where Dr. Bob Smith became involved). Serious disagreements with Oxford Group founder Frank Buchman led Shoemaker to separate from Buchman in 1941.
Sam Shoemaker and his followers later formed "Faith At Work" as a continuation of his conference and publication projects. However, he was NOT a co-founder of AA with Bill Wilson. Bill Wilson co-fouded AA with Dr. Bob Smith.
Jes a li'll AA history lesson here.......
