A mothers story

Just saw this YouTube video hosted by the Massachusetts DA to raise awareness of the prescription drug problem in the state. It could be any moms story.

My prayers go out for that woman's son. Sadly, it's a common story here and I really believe it's as bad as any pandemic could ever be. People are sick and dying every day, and we just can't stop it.

Getting the message out to the public is one good way to start.

Thank you for sharing this.

Hugs

Agreed. The sad thing is that heroin addiction is hard to treat successfully even when we recognize it as a growing problem.

I wish we worked as hard on a cure for addiction as we work on other problems. To see a person really try and repeatedly fail, is so discouraging. To see a person not try for fear of failure is just as devastating. Some day, some way, I pray there is an answer to this.

You are right, Ann, we can't stop it, though it's a constant battle for life or death.

I'm thankful for this forum where we can at least share with those who understand the pain and also share encouragement and an occasional laugh or two. Pain shared is halved. Joy shared is doubled!

This mama can relate to her. Pandemic for sure.

Purdue Pharma, a private company in Stamford Ct., owned by Mds, holds the patent on Oxy and many other pain pills. I wonder what their balance sheet looks like.

Then again, it's really about the drug users, not the substance, like the gun argument.

Purdue pharma... Don't even get me started...

I know in the end it is my child (or our children) that make the choice, but in a perfect world (ha) there wouldn't be a choice to make.
