Im dating someone in recovery. 21 years sober. I havnt taken her recovery very seriously because she seems to be one of the most level headed and sensible people I know. My interest in her should be apparent by my joining this website. She seems to allow me in then push me away. Just being cautious? Are there any behaviors i should be aware?
I am not in recovery although i have had my own problems with alchohol many years ago. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

If she has been sober 21 years, I'd say her recovery is very strong and may have everything to do with her being level headed.

Have you asked her why she allows you in and then pushes you away? With 21 years sober I think it's a good guess that it has nothing to do with her recovery but perhaps she sees your relationship differently than you do.

I agree with Ann. Her recovery is probably strong.

I too would ask her why she lets you in and then pushes you away.

She may very well not be as interested in you.
