My son has been missing almost 7 years now, and I still beat myself up now and then.

When I open my mind to the "what if's" and "if only's" and the "coulda, shoulda, woulda's" they form a committee with an agenda to drive me crazy.

Today, when that happens, I hang a "no vacancy" sign right next to my "gone fishing" sign. And I go for a walk through nature to appreciate all the beautiful things in life.

Tell yourself what I tell myself on these walks..."Mistakes are lessons I have learned on my path to a better life. They are not who I am, they are what allowed me to learn."

I can't express how I feel about all of the people here on SR. I can keep my "tank" full most of the time but I occasionally need a little help and you are all always here to offer support and some wonderful suggestions. Those suggestions get added to my tool box and help me to thrive.....even though my son is still lost in his addiction.
