My Kingdom

"A little kingdom I possess, where thoughts and feelings dwell; And very hard the task I find of governing it well." -- Louisa May Alcott

I found this in my Naranon SESH reading today (June 29 Page 181) . It made me laugh because it is so simple and so true.

The beginning of the reading said:

I tried to manipulate and affairs of my life to reduce the pain of others. That eventually caused me pain. I could not stand to watch other people make mistakes and choices that I thought were wrong for them, when I knew I could show them a better way.

That describes me to a tee......whoa.....what an ego. It is a behavior that I am really working on but I find myself occasionally slipping back into it. How annoying. If I concentrate on me and what I need to fix with me.....I really shouldn't have time to try to fix anyone else's life. lol

I hope everyone has a great day governing their little kingdom!

gentle hugs

What a great reading this was for me today, KE!

My little kingdom has expanded to 8 dogs, 2 extra for the morning (of Amber's).

I may just lose my mind before lunch! :lmao

If you do lose your mind for a while, the retriever will find it again for you.....but keep it away from the terrier. They might bury it! And don't worry about the greyhound, he will just ignore it and pretend it doesn't exist!
:lmao
gentle hugs to you and all of your furry family

:lmao :lmao You hit the breed traits on the head!

Gosh that trying to reduce pain for others is a tough one at times.

Amber has started seeing you know who again, and I just have to keep my trap shut.

She puts her hand on the hot stove time and time again.

My meddling before definitely put a strain on our relationship, so for today I will stay on my side of the street and not "interfere" with her choices.

I love this!! There isn't a Narcanon in my town, but I'm going to print this reading and bring it to my Alanon meeting tonight to discuss if there is no topic. Thank you for sharing!
