Everyone Should Listen To Their Hairdresser. Hi - I don't usually post over here, but wanted to impose briefly (well. 'briefly' ... for *me* that is) and share with you something my hairdresser told me about when I had my 6/week mental health appointment last week. She told me that when she went for some phase or other of her final testing for liscensing... this woman had volunteered to get her hair done as part of the testing for another person. The soon - to be - hairdresser got all the chemicals on the lady's hair and in about five minutes the woman's HAIR STARTED SMOKING!! apparently a woman sitting next to her noticed it! So needless to say - everyone EVERYONE rushed around hosing the woman's head off trying to neutralize the chemicals on the woman's head to save her hair .... it turned out the woman was on METH and was a cocaine addict as well. This wasn't a woman who looked ... "just in off the street" she drives a high priced car has a big house all the things that you aren't exactly looking for when someone says there's a meth addict in the room. She's actually a somewhat 'public' figure and now sports and extremely short haircut. My hairdresser told me that even antibiotics come out in the hair for weeks after you've taken them because I'd asked about why *my* hair had suddenly become so 'tame' when it's USUALLY very wavy and not manageable at all. It was the antibiotics. and if you (not YOU you, the metaphorical 'you') don't tell your hairdresser the TRUTH about what you've been ingesting .... your hair will catch on fire! Word - to the wise, I suppose! Yet another way to 'smoke out' if we're being lied to? :rotfxko |
Liar, Liar, hair on fire!!! :lmao Oh my! I've had my hair turn strange colours sometimes, but gotta admit, it never smoked. Thanks for my smile today...and maybe some good advice too. Hugs |
Wow. One more reason to just say no! |
Thats a good story- pretty shocking tho. can you imagine? I went to cosmetology school years ago, and we were taught not to give a perm to anyone with hair colors like "Loving Care" , for they interact with the perm solution, causing bad colors. One day, a little old lady with dark dark hair wanted a perm. I asked her if she had that sort of hair color in her hair, explaining the consequences if she did, and she said "Oh no honey, go ahead and give me my perm, it is ok." Well I did, and her hair turned army green! I was just sick, and as I worked with it, I got more anxious, not knowing what to do. The lady did not seem to notice, and I thought maybe her eyesight was not that good. I excused myself for a moment, and got my instructor. She took one look, and looked at me, and quickly walked away, with an apologetic look. Well, what could I do? I styled her hair, nearly ready to faint from this disaster, and so I said something like " You might notice a bit of an off color, a bit of a greenish tint ( boy that was an understatement). She smiled and said, " Oh that is ok honey, it happens all the time". Liar, Liar, hair on fire- that is hilarious Ann:rotfxko |
Wow I needed that, it was a crazy story.:lmao |
Hair can tell many a story I guess! I was out with a male friend a few weeks back and he noticed this girl's hair, his comment to me was "She has Party Hair" What I said, he said ya, you can tell she is a party girl by her hair, has this kind of fuzziness to it. Rose |

Nice! Well, that's one way to finally make the decision to get a short haircut!! :burns |
Well, your story was not what I was expecting, LOL! Yikes! When I told my hairstylist that I had filed for a legal separation and we were separated, she said "it's about time!". We have known each other for years and she used to cut AH's hair...crazy how others see things. Now, if only I could move to the next step I'd be doing good....ugh. |
