Treatment centers in Wisconsin or Illinois

I am looking for advice...
My 20 yr old AS wants to go to an in patient (28 day) type of treatment center.
Our insurance will pay for a large majority of it.
Has anyone had any experiences with Gateway in Illinois or Stepping Stones or Cornell... Gateway in Lake Villa is only about 1 1/2 hrs from our house in Milwaukee....
He has attended a 3 day in patient program in the past and knows he needs more...
He has contacted insurance and you would think the Milwaukee area would have something.... but nothing is around here...
The insurabnce gave him a few names of centers in the Chicago area...
Anyone with any experience here???
Thanks!

Hi,

My 20 year old daughter is in Battle Creek MI, at A Forever Recovery.
She has been there since 12/22/10. Just got a call today that she will be starting after care next week and can leave on 2/11/11.

She has done very well here. You have options to do 12 Step, they have Faith Based programs, anger management and a medical facility also.

The success rate is 76%. My daughter found this place on her own.

I haven't been there but I know she is making progress.

Hope you find a good place !

Gateway is huge ( think 30,000 annual patients) and a percentage of their population is there due to court order, common in most rehabs. They have several centers throughout the state.

Rehab/treatment centers do not cure addiction. At best they teach recovery tools to highly motivated guests. Life in rehab is not the same thing as life in the real world. What each guest does with those tools thereafter, is up to them.

Rosecrance, in Rockford, is another option.

Rosecrance in Rockford is good. My dad went there for the short term program. In my experience, they allowed us to visit every sunday for an hour or two and they had a "family recovery seminar" that they did over a weekend. It was a nice facility. They got "outdoors time" too (though I'm assuming that only happens in the summer, cause that's when he went).
