Hi Tyler,

You have gotten some really good information here and as you can tell many many many of us have tried so much to help our loved ones with their addiction to pain meds ~ but the bottom line is . . .

We didn't cause it
We can't control it
We can't cure it

the only thing we can do is shift that focus back to ourselves.

what is going on with me
what do I want in this life
what is HEALTHY for me

Thru SR, reading recovery literature, working on my own program of recovery and my relationship with the God of my understanding ~ I have learned the best gift I can give those I love is a healthy, stable and sane ME.

I can't be that person if I am obessessed with other people's drug addiction or alcoholism.

Just my experience, strength and hope.
