He tries to be sneaky, but I can smell it sometimes. He is also alcholic, he went to treatment 8 years ago, but still drinks beer. I know I need to go back to al-anon. thanks

I agree, you will find your answers by going to al-anon and learning how to detach from his actions and live a peaceful life regardless of what he chooses to do.

Yup off to alanon for you..he has completely relapsed..beer is alcohol..are you ok living with an active addict?

Been there!

Comically, I did not know what the smell was and went around sniffing like some sort of out of work bloodhound. My EX kept telling me how crazy I was and that I needed help for my delusion. The truck he drove was owned by his employer and it was unbearable to ride in. Hard to believe he was let go due to cutbacks. Yeah, right. Pot cloud followed him like Pigpen from a Peanuts cartoon and it was the economy's fault.

It took a while before I trusted my own nose and accepted he was actually driving while binge drinking AND getting high. At least the pot made him less aggressive. Sad trade off.

You asked a question that I am sure you know in your heart the answer to. Trust yourself and do what's healthiest for you. Living in a stankcloud of pot smoke with an active alcoholic was rock bottom for me.

I think that when we suspect, about 98% of the time we're right. With the odor, that might move it up to 100%.
