I would think that its a good sign. Maybe he's sick and tired of being sick and tired and finally wants his life and freedom from addiction back.

“Today” that is a good sign but what’s his plan after the flush to stay off it?

What’s your plan moving forward from today to help YOU deal with HIS addiction?

The funny thing about using the toilet....

Is that at some point, you have to use it again.

I'm willing to bet that he already had another stash somewhere or had plans to get more drugs when he flushed the first set.

JMHO....

he could have meant it and that would be a good sign if he stays the course.

there is also the possibility that he wanted to stick his hand in and pull it back out..

That is a good sign, but how do you know it was the last of it? I remember doing that once just to get my wife off of my back. I dumped two bags down the toilet but had 10 more stashed in my car. I am not trying to be a downer, but you just never know.

Hopefully you will see a change in his actions to follow through. I really do hope he is done, but all you can do is take care of yourself.

Flushing a bag of something down the toilet seems like intentional drama and likely a bait and switch.

I gathered from prior posts, he does not work and is dependent on you for everything. If so, he has motivation to maintain the status quo.

What's your motivation for maintaining the status quo?

process,

you are begging for someone to give you permission to hope.

the truth will be revealed.

whether he truly and honestly meant to quit at the moment he flushed, does not indicate whether or not he will continue to be drug-free. even when people have years clean and sober, they do go back.

his actions, from this moment forward, will be the indicator you seek.

peace....
