Recovery slippage
kindeyes - just want to add my thoughts and prayers for you and your son - the love we hold for our children will always keep us watching for any sign of our true child returning to us - the father of the prodigal son was watching - i'm sure his thoughts and prayers were about his son's return - and when he did the father ran to meet him indicating that he was watching - i think probably every person coming down that road caused the father's heart to quicken until he could see clearly whether it was really his son or not - just as any effort our children make towards recovery causes our hearts to quicken - we have to wait also to see if this will truely be the time that will bring our child home - i understand how we need to keep our thoughts centered and balanced so that we can live a peaceful and productive life - these thoughts and feelings about our hurting children have to become part of that balance through surrender and hope - a little bit of rambling - hope it makes some kind of sense
I believe that the HP knows exactly where your son is, and is guiding him. Maybe not where you believe he should be guided right this very moment, but none the less on the path the HP has chosen for him, for today.
These are my thoughts, I trust the HP, do you? If so, you know what to do.
Hope that you are feeling better today.

litehorse.....yes....your ramblings made sense and helped....thank you.
Dollydo......it's funny.....I woke up in the middle of the night and I asked "God where is my son" and quickly an answer in my mind came through......"He is in my hands." I was able to go right back to sleep.
gentle hugs

Kindeyes,
I hear the worry and concern in your post, I have been there too recently......
Often I wonder why my sons have had to struggle so much in their lives, but I suppose it is not for me to question, just to trust that God has a plan for all his children.
If you do not attending meetings, please do.
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.
