Less than a week to go...

...and my divorce will be final. It's definitely been a rollercoaster ride and I'm only too relieved to be stepping off the "crazy train". I look forward to regaining a sense of self and much needed serenity. I don't post much... but I'm always lurking and learning.... thanks to all.

I was listening to Suzy Bogguss today and rediscovered this wonderful song written by Beth Nielson Chapman (performed by Suzy Bogguss). If you have a chance to listen to it... it's worthwhile.

Save Yourself

Beth Nielson Chapman

You're gonna have to save yourself this time darlin'
You're gonna have to find a soft heart in someone else
Cause I almost drowned comin' to your rescue
This time around, you're gonna have to save yourself

I'm all out of rope and I'm all out of reasons
You had me thinkin' I could help
That you needed a friend
One little white lie and it all looks deceiving'
You keep goin' back out over your head again

You're gonna have to save yourself this time darlin'
You're gonna have to find a soft heart in someone else
Cause I almost drowned comin' to your rescue
This time around, you're gonna have to save yourself

You can knock on the door
You can rattle all the windows
You can howl like a dog but you're not comin' in

I'm anybody's fool til I learn how the game goes
And I will never be you're fool again

You're gonna have to save yourself this time darlin'
You're gonna have to find a soft heart in someone else
Cause I almost drowned comin' to your rescue
This time around, you're gonna have to save yourself

((Hammerhead)) - so good to see you here, and I'm glad that your divorce is about to be final. BTW, I haven't heard that song, but I like the lyrics!

Keep taking care of you, sweetie...you are most definitely worth it - enjoy the time off the "crazy train"

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

Impurrfect.... love your signature:
"I'm not where I want to be, but thank God I'm not where I used to be" - Joyce Meyer
That is the truth! I'm not where I want to be...and...don't like where I've been... and I do thank God that is changing.

I admit I was really, really angry to learn the truth. The truth about "the dance"... the truth about my part of the dance... and I didn't like it one lil bit... but I began to realize that nothing and I mean nothing was going to change unless I changed it... it's as simple as that.

It's amazing how I detect noise and chaos a mile away now.... so if nothing else... I am much better prepared to deal with the next chapter of my life and I guess that's all that matters... isn't it?

I'm still reeling from my education... I see so many things differently now... I never realized so many people were messed up on drugs and alcohol...

... it just gets my goat to go to Wally World and see a 12 pack of cigarette lighters for sale.... really!!!! Do we really need to sell 12 pack cigarette lighters... hello.... I smoke cigarettes and a lighter lasts me at least 3 months... My local "no-frills - cardboard box for carryout" grocery store just began selling beer!

I appreciate business and making a dollar... especially in this economy... it just seems that I can't get away from any of the reminders... does this ever change? Am I being over sensitive?

Sounds like U R embracing your new life...may it just keep getting better.
The hard part is surely over. May you start to benefit from the changes you
had the courage to make.

I love discovering new music...the lyrics and title of your song are great.
but the music is a little to country for my taste.
