Thumbs up We are Smarter than we think

Yesterday when I was at the Aids Clinic there was a lady who I heard say
some studies have shown that we actually have more visceral sensations
in our gut than in our brains. I was blown away at what she had to say
after that so I've been reading up on it, and found it all to be fascinating.

I think some of you may also find it pretty interesting I think I read the statement at least once a day, Follow your gut, Trust your gut instinct,
NOW I understand why it really works when we do that.

There are some great articles as to why it works and why we should do that.
If we have two brains telling us the same thing, 'Is he/she/them using, should I leave, what should I do' Seems like having this in black and white would make it easier to come to a decision.

Well........... It all made sense to me anyway. In my two brains........

Or ............

Maybe I just wanted to brag to you all

THAT I HAVE TWO BRAINS!

That was your second brain in action...

I KNEW I DID!!
:day6

I KNEW IT!

I learned to trust my gut/instinct a long time ago. It never fails me...where the brain between my ears is sometimes too busy fighting with my heart.

My body is one big science project in action

I often know how to disengage my heart (not sure if that's good or bad) but my brain still tries to rule my gut. I'm still learning...and getting better at it!

One positive thing that I learned from living with an active addict is that I can trust my gut and my gut is usually right.. I first it was hard because I was living in a crazy situation where I didn't know what to believe including what I was feeling.. but as time passed I realized that feeling that I had deep down inside of me was the one true thing that I could always count on.. it was a librating feeling to know that I could trust something and that was myself.

Throw your heart into the mixture and that makes for a crazy combo! Brain, gut and heart! I've been following my heart - or I thought I was. Did I really love someone who would do these awful things? Really?

Great stuff - off to read the links. Thanks Done!

As I was thinking about this I was remembering the stories, books, things on here and on TV, I've heard where people, (Including myself) have talked about if they wouldn't have done 'this or that' they would have lost their lives. Most if not all those stories always goes back to them trusting their gut feeling , or that something that told them to.

A book I read about a serial killers daughter they talk about how she survived him by following her 'gut' and she mentioned how after wards she ended up throwing up.

I did always know aobut the gut feeling, women's intuition and have always tried to follow it, but I never knew about the visceral sensations, just very fascinating to me.

But I am easily fascinated, so......... LOL

I'm on my way to day two now, wonder what fun stuff I'll learn today! LOL

I think part of it is that our guts don't lie to us. But our brain will play tricks on us.

How have you been Done? It looks like you've been keeping busy.

I'm Awesome! If you missed it, I've been doing volunteering at an aids place from a [red light ticket] that cost me $500.00 so I have lots of time there, to pay it off.
But it's been fun! and interesting. Also gearing up for my next flashmob, it's to raise money for Haiti and it's a hard dance and still trying to work on top of it. So it caught up to me the last day or so starting to get a little tired. Thought I'd get home early yesterday but got stuck at work after our gate was broken, lol.
But I'm loving my busy two brained life.

How about you? Whatcha think about this crazy rain?

I floated in a boat down Labrea on Tuesday, did you see me!

( I am kidding) But I was about to go look for Noah

I'm actually trying to take control of my life for real this time. SR really helps.

The rain has been crazy. But this weekend it should be nice and sunny. And that makes for a great 3 day weekend!

I think that is great about your volunteer work except for the ticket part. I did see some of your other posts - looks like you're there for a reason beyond paying off your ticket. I can honestly say, that it is good to know you.
