i have to think that you came to this message board because you love an addict. surely you put some key words into google and this popped up.

there is a lot of self-discovery that can occur if you attend al-anon (with your ears wide open lol) and if you read and post on this site.

let me define "no contact"
1. someone you care for has hurt you by his words and actions
2. you decide to go into self-preservation mode
3. you cease all contact with said person for a time, sometimes it's forever
4. it's not just for you not contacting "person" - if person contacts you, you
still do not answer.
5. the reason is to get some distance, and clarity, and healing. it's designed
FOR YOU, not for the very person who is hurting you.
