A World Without You

In dreams I see your face
Hear you laugh or
Talk with you a while

In dreams time has no place
You are a child again
No tears or sadness - just a smile

Reality sets in when I awake
Time stands still
The hours are never through

I trudge through days that take
forever to be done
I long to sleep once more
Perhaps to dream of you

Dreams are my escape now
Escape from pain and emptiness
From grief and tears and sorrow

My nightmare begins anew
Each day when I awake
To a world without you...

I woke up thinking of you today. Nothing I say can make it any easier or less painful.
I cannot think of a single thing to say that might lighten the too heavy load you carry today. I have sat here speechless for awhile, wanting to acknowledge you and this day, but dumbfounded for anything useful to come to mind. Finally, it comes to me, please be ever so gentle with yourself and do anything, whatever, you may need today. You don't need to take care of anyone else today, just you.

You've been on my mind all day. I was filling out job applications, and every time I wrote down the date, I said a special prayer for you.

Though I wish I could, I know there is nothing I can say that can take your pain away. Please know that I am thinking of you, as are so many others, and we do care. Thank you for the lovely poem.

He can sit in its shade and say, “This is mine”
He will live in the house his own hands made Isa. 65:21, 22
And none shall molest or make him afraid. Micah 4:4

Think of a world without bloodshed and strife Ps. 46:9
Where no man dare take another man’s life; II Cor. 10:3
Where man unto man will unite in peace PS. 37:11
And malice and hatred forevermore cease John 13:55

Think of the earth as a global paradise Isa. 35:1,2
Where mountains and deserts will dazzle your eyes; Isa. 55:12,13
With beautiful flowers and shrubbery and trees Isa. 60:13
With gay butterflies, songbirds and bees. Ps. 104

Think! Just as sure as God’s word is the truth John 17:17
A man shall return to the days of his youth;
His flesh shall become as the flesh of a child Job 33:25
And the words that he speaks will be cheerful and Matt. 5:5
mild.

Think of a world where a lame man will leap Isa. 35:6
From crag to crag like a deer or a sheep;
Where none shall be deaf or none shall be blind Isa. 35:5
And the dumb shall sing and speak forth their mind.

Think of a world where each man is his brother Matt. 23:8
Not esteeming himself above that of another; Php. 2:3
Where man unto man shall be friend to friend John 15:14
In a world without tears that will never end. John 10:28

Think of a world where the dead will have risen John 5:28
From their silent tombs that have held them in prison Matt. 11:5
To forever live in love and caress
