One year has passed
It amazes me what a year can bring. Today I am proud to say I have one year clean and sober. It has not been an easy journey living with someone in active addiction. In some ways his using forced me to want to stay sober even more and other times it was a horrible trigger. A month ago I took my final stand and called it quits. Don't get me wrong this is still a hellish time with all that still needs to be worked out, but I know in my heart of hearts I will be okay.
Everyone deserves to be treated with love and respect. The first person though that you need to get that from is yourself. I know I'm not perfect and have a lot of work to do, but I trust myself enough to know I made the right decision.

Anvill, I have to give you some credit for this. You might not remember but you had posted on my thread to right after I left him. I have held your words with me this entire time. I appreciate your time and concern more than you will ever know. Thank you.
Way to go!!! I am so glad that you have realized that you really do deserve all the good stuff life has to offer, including being treated with love and respect.
One year is fantabulous!!
Hugs and prayers!
