hello , at last, and thank you
I am here atlast......almost had the life force suck out of me through relationship (4 yrs) with coke addict. His addiction escalated - or just became more revealed as I got to understand it , but about 9 months ago I found you wonderful, knowledgeable people and have read and re-read and followed and learned (daily)- enough to have slowly / painfully pulled myself away from insanity and am just starting to feel on a level. I can see the light - enough to remember that I was once a lovely lady, and was treated like one and will be again. Well enough that I have actually joined the forum instead of passively reading it - I AM HERE-
and I want to say THANK YOU, because with out SR's incredible wealth of experience, boundaries, support, kindness I would have drowned - I knew nothing about addiction and was being pummelled and manipulated / bullied/ blamed and some of the barbs would catch and bleed.
SO, I didn't drown, am not yet on dry land but you have given me the paddles to start heading there.
Thank you thank you thank you

Welcome!! I, too, lurked for quite a while before joining. As much as I learned from reading, the posting/reading took me to a whole other realm and I am forever grateful to the wonderful friends I have here.
Hugs and prayers!

Welcome!
These folks have an incredible amount of ESH (experience, strength and hope) and compassion - to help you on the journey to find you. There is life after living with addiction!
Thank you for posting.

I barely lurked for a weekend before I signed up. I was so bolstered by the support and learning here I had to join in.
I'm so glad you have opened that door and come in where the fellowship here can reach you directly.
WELCOME!!!

Welcome Lovely.
Glad you've made it here. Coke is a viscious substance. It consumes all goodness.
My other half also uses coke... plus there are other members with experience of it in different forms.
WELCOME again...
You learn much from here

Welcome to SR, I'm glad you found a place where you can get it out, learn, and sort through the things you have been experiencing.
Addiction and dealing with an addict, can be overwhelming, and confusing.
Try to avoid beating on yourself, to 'taking the b.s.'..... because it's normal to not understand what is transpiring, and concequently 'take' behavior that now you can see is unacceptable to you.
It's a learning process......... and I'm still learning, and have been here for 8 months...

Lovelylady,
This is a great place for gathering strength and wisdom regarding the recovery road. Glad you made it here and are seeing there is a better way for you to live.
This place, along with my face to face meetings, saved my life years ago. I will be forever grateful.
