OT: Reconnections
I have been alone for about two years - have some good friends but not a lot of contact so i kinda feel like i'm just going through the motions of life. Something hit me this last week and I really decided it was time to get my life back. my first step was tracking down old friends. Some i havent spoken to in a couple of years and others 15 years. With the "codie" spirit of investigation, the help of google, myspace, facebook, and classmates.com, I've reconnected with a lot and been talking to old friends all week long. All of them have good positive lives and i'm making lots of plans to get out and see people - for once have some real positive outlook about my own life.
Most of these people are the ones who knew me when i was young - but before the dramas of my life. I cannot recommend strongly enough to call that old friend or family member that you miss and who crosses your mind occassionally. I think of all the things i've done for myself this is the best thing i ever could - its a great way to battle the lonliness and reclaim your life.
My phone has been ringing off the hook - emails pouring in - and even my son last night said that i look better than i have in a very long time. He said he was really pleased to see me looking happy again and you know, I think he actually meant it - i think it was almost infections where he couldnt help but smile too. For once, instead of his negative mood affecting me, my positive mood affected him.

I'm so glad you put those investigative skills to use in something that benefits YOU!! You do sound much happier, and it's about time you got to walk around with a smile on your face and in your heart.
