another meaningless order from the court...
another meaningless order from the court...
Trevor's out of jail again.
Mix up at the jail/court - don't know which, but, didn't get out this morning as expected. Got out this afternoon. He's in a program. Was supposed to be ordered to 6 months according the the public defender; wasn't. Was just told to go to the program. So, we'll see how long that lasts.... One more instance of enabling from the courts. They are worse than any parents I've ever known... But, they don't have to worry if the person dies or not. They never sit up in fear over that. So, it's easy for the courts to just keep enabling addicts over and over, while refusing any real help - medication for mental illness perhaps or a real crack at rehab!
Well, he's out.
We'll see how it goes this time.
I pray he stays. I just don't have much hope.
Shalom!

I only had to deal with courts one time. My AD was underage and got caught for drug abuse. We went to court and I told them she had a drug problem. They ordered her to 6 counseling sessions where they said she didn't have a drug problem, just teenage issues. It did not go on her record.
Look where we are now?
Please keep hope in your heart, you never know what might turn them around.

Don't even get me started on the failures of the court system....
Nevertheless, you never know if the rehab will be his miracle (court mandated or not)
I wish we had "rehab prisons" (locked rehabs with no chance of signing oneself out).

I "slipped through" the court system a few times, too. I really thought I was lucky. Now, I see that it just prolonged the inevitable. I was eventually caught one time too many and I couldn't get out of it.
I'm sending lots of hugs and prayers for you and Trevor. Don't give up hope, sweetie. Situations like this usually just make the A feel more invincible and they get a bit more careless. This usually leads to getting in trouble faster.
Hugs and prayers!

Hugs for you and prayers for both you and Trevor, Teach.
Maybe he'll learn from this and try a better way, we just never know when they have had "enough".
Hoping for a miracle, he's due.
Big hugs

Prayers for Trevor and your family.
I think the courts are failing in most states. My state set up a drug court-did not last long-ran out of funding (hard to believe). Now they lock up the users and let the dealers run free. Total corruption in this county!!!!!
Planning to move right out of this state within a year.

prayers for you and for Trevor - another story here of a mixed up system - daughter just finished serving another 30 days for violation of her "drug court" program - now she's in an inpatient treatment program for another 30 days (2nd time for inpatient)
All we can do is keep taking care of ourselves and working our own program!
HUGS to you!!

Trevor is now 29 years old come May.
He's been using drugs since he was 14. He's been dealing with the police since he was 16; in the courts system since he was 18. It's not a case of "slipping through a few times" at all. He's been in and out of jail more often than I can remember.
He's NEVER been given the medication he NEEDS for his bipolar condition!
And until that happens, NOTHING will change.
Unless he dies.
And the great state of RI refuses the medicate him. Period.
Thanks for the well wishes.
Shalom!
