Hi Katie,
Speaking as a high school teacher, let me add my voice to the dozens before me who've all agreed that teenagers are a waste of perfectly good carbon.

(Just kidding, of course, but ... well, sort of not.)

Teenagers are crazy. They're irrational and often really mean and conscienceless. And that's the good ones.

Like they've said, she's comfortable with you and knows that you'll love her even if she acts rotten. That's typical.

The good news is that the grow up and grow out of it. At least, the good ones do. And it sounds like you've got one of those.

Good luck to you.. hang in there! And thanks for giving her the stability and loving punching bag she's got in you.

Yeeeez.....I used to weep all the time that I have never been able to have children, but now I'm beginning to be pretty glad that my ex and I never did....so...no teenagers.

Katie.....It sounds like you are getting great advice. I just wanted to send you a hug. Hang in there! And yes, I do still wish I had been able to have children!
