Simply amazing I leave exactly one week from today for my son's graduation from rehab. Wow, he really completed the whole year program. You know that I am pinching myself. I still need to write my speech to deliver at his commencement ceremony. Any Words of inspiration for me ? In addition to this amazing event, I learned today that my youngest stepson was just awarded a full scholarship to get his PhD at Harvard ! My family is blessed. Today a mother was referred to me because she just learned that her 20 yr. old son is addicted to Oxys. She is just starting the drama that I have lived through for the last 6 yrs. In some ways I am glad I went through this experience...But it is a chapter I hope closes. Lessons learned. I hope my son can continue to overcome addiction. I will not worry about the future, but rather enjoy the celebrations that are coming my way. I pray for all those who still suffer. |
((SS)) I think YOU are the ones with the words of inspiration today. Though I am very happy for your son and stepson, I am most happy for you. We never know what the future will bring, but for today, things sound good in your life. I do hope you are wearing something that matches your black-belt-in-alanon for the graduation:) Hugs and prayers! Amy |
Thanks for reminding me. I will wear my black belt, with my high heels. I earned it. |
Maybe I will do some shopping for a new dress ...something colorful. Now there's a terrific idea. |
OOOO I love good news!!!! I am so happy for you, enjoy. |

Gosh....my breath has been taken. I wish I could offer something for your speech. I'm bawling. How truly wonderful. He made it out alive. It's so RARE for addicts to accomplish this. I'm so very very very happy for you and your family! Love, Maelynn |
I'm so incredibly happy for your son and your family. What a great accomplishment! You all must be so proud. I've no words of wisdom but full of wonderful wishes for you all. |
hey spiritual, I haven't been here for awhile, but I've thought of you and your journey. I am happy for your son and you. He has worked hard and so have you! You always spoke of hope even when your sons was down and out, you still had hope and focused on what was good in your life. So don't forget that when you write your speech :c009: |
I think a colorful dress for the occasion would be marvelous! You deserve something pretty and new! :ghug :ghug |
The big day is coming!!!!! So..... How did your speech turn out? You are going to be spectacular in your new colorful dress (black-belt and all)! Your Son if finishing a major accomplishment and hopefully going to use it towards a PhD in life, and your Stepson is celebrating his accomplishment. As you said, blessings all around, and high-time too! Live this to the fullest! Hope you enjoy every moment! (((hugs))) |
