Divorce not an option according to my priest?

Thank you each for this wonderful thread. I am not religious but do have a confidential belief system.
I have and am having a very hard time with this.
I made vows and commitments that I am to honor and grow in.
It has always been hard almost impossible for me to understand that a bilateral commitment once broken by the other party means I am freed from my part of that contract. Sort of a matter of honor and integrity with me.
I was served with divorce papers yesterday.
So, .....I know I would not have done that in the foreseeable future,
but it is done for me.
It is going to take me a long time not to think of him as my husband, because as far as I was concerned he was my husband for life.
And yes, there are two aspects to it, the legal law and spiritual laws.
It is going to take me a long time to work through this.
