I Mailed The Letter

I needed to come here & share how I felt mailing that letter. I told him how much I loved him but would not lift a finger to help him get out of jail. He just threw away $1,000. He has no regard for money. etc etc
I felt bad. It was hard to mail. I had to pray.

I found that the more I practiced tough love, the easier it got for me.

Rozied,
You did a wonderful job by sending that letter. You are the one in control over your own life, and you are proving it.

It may open a new way of him seeing you...as a loving caring mom who will not enable him.

Hugs....

Hi rozied, You are on your way to controlling your life and making your son's better. It may not appear like that quite yet but soon you will see it. I feel for you hon. It's a very hard step and takes all you have to walk into the "tough love" arena. I'm here for you any time you need an ear or a shoulder to lean on. Hugs, Bonnie

Thanks, Thanks, Thanks, I know in my heart I am not hurting him. I KNOW this is the only real way to help him. Giving him or being a part of him getting freedom is nuts.
His HP KNOWS the best place for him right now is jail......thats why he is in there. He does it to himself. All you can do is tell them how much you love them and stay firm with your boundaries.

Thanks Amy, and I do love him more than anything. I know 2 yrs ago when I told him if he used again to forget I was his mother, he did better than he had in 20yrs. He had court ordered out pt rehab at that time plus counseling sessions, and he was showing progress. Then he found a job in the neighboorhood where he did all his using. We told him not to take it but he did. Nine mts later he lost the job because he refused a urine test cuz he knew he had been using.
I wish the courts would order something like that again.
