Kinda dorky but..
My RAD has been staying at her ex fiances alot. They have been working on their relationship. She waitresses for a good chunk of change, is taking an online course and started working per diem at the halfway house she was at a couple times. She is working there to see if indeed it is the right choice for her to continue her education.
She got mail from **ACRA, the halfway house. Since she isn't home much these days she asked me to open & read it to her. It said: Happy Holidays. **ACRA Board & Staff Holiday Party. Yes, my daughter is "staff" at the halfway house. I kinda felt a lump in my throat reading it. I am so proud. Miricles do indeed happen.

Miracles do happen indeed, and I am so happy that one has unfolded for your daughter.
Helpus, I always love your posts too, because your light shines so brightly with each one.

When I found out about my daughters addictions, I kept looking at all the lost opportunities. It seemed so hopeless. But working on my own recovery helped me see it was part of the journey and they had to find their own way. Like you, once my daughter found recovery, the joy of seeing the wonderful choices she made, the thrill of watching her grow and mature and know for sure that she did it herself, outweighs the pain of yesterday.
I'm so happy for you and your daughter. That is awesome stuff! Thanks for sharing your happiness and hope!

You have every reason to be proud of her, It's not dorky to be proud of your RAD, any more than it's dorky to feel bad when they're not doing quite so good. There's nothing like a message of hope for the parents whose kids aren't doing that great. I remember when finding out that some kids actually did get it, gave me sooo much hope that maybe my (now) RAD would get it too.
