Unlocking the Mind of an Addict
Hot off the presses!
This book is written by the counselor my daughter had during her stay last summer at the last rehab. He was the first one to break through, taught her what coping mechanisms she currently has and continues to work with her as he can.
It is geared toward parents of young addults, but the knowledge is good for any of us struggling with a loved one through substance abuse.
One of the letters I wrote to AD while in treatment is in the book. Those of you who know me and the history will know immediately--same stuff I posted here. The names have been changed on all accounts.
Let me know what you think. I rate if up there w/ An Addict in the Family and Just Love her and the book by Mia Fontaine and her mom. Can't think of the name right now.
