Codie Vacation...the evidence

Hi Gang!!

The Codie vacation to St. Augustine was a blast, I never knew I could laugh that hard without hurting myself.

What a tribute to recovery that 5 Codies could accidentally meet in cyberspace and become such good friends and share a week of recovery, laughs, good times and did I say laughs?

I'm sure the others will be along with their own evidence, but thought I'd share just a couple of samples before I get organized here again and head into work for a few hours.

The highlight of our trip was a visit to the Fountain of Youth...it really works, ya know? I almost got busted for jumping the barricade but a gal has to do what a gal has to do to get some of that Youth Water, yes?

Here is our "before" pic...left to right that would be Hangin' In, Ann, Jody Hepler, CatsPajamas and Mooselips

Gotta run, but later I will tell you all about the Vampire Bats with a wing span of 2 feet (indeedie!) and the Monster Dragon Flies as big as a 747 :yikes:

And I got to eat strange southern food, like fried doggie bits that they call Hush Puppies and red beans and rice and red velvet cake that was to die for. We Canadians don't know what we're missing....oh, yeah, I tried grits with cheese and you may not want to hear about that.

And the Ghost Tour that we snuck away from.... :Ghost

Sounds and looks like everyone had a blast. I'm jealous.

Sure you guys don't have to head back to school now instead of work.

Hangin' In 10-20-2008 08:06 AM

Hey, whose got the picture of Moose wearing her thong?????
Oh, it's okay. Go ahead. Post it. We're among friends.

And I'm still trying to get my hair to do like that dog's.

And Ann, well, bless her heart, she just didn't have time to really acquire a taste for the grits. Oh my gosh, it's just doesn't get any better than grits and sweet tea down here in God's country! :c008:

For you southerners, you'll love this. We had to explain to Ann what "hushpuppies" are. The rest of the weekend she called them "dog biscuits" or something like that. I almost tossed her a Milkbone dog biscuit to teach her the difference.... :lmao

On our last night there we were reviewing our pictures. We were laughing so hard and so loud that I was worried the folks next door were going to think we were up so more than just sharing fun times.

I had a fabulous time on my "SR" retreat ... Southern Retreat (as we called it) or SoberRecovery Retreat. Either way, God has blessed me with these wonderful recovery friends and I am so grateful!:ghug2

mooselips 10-20-2008 08:21 AM

(laughed so hard I was glad I brought extra undies...:lmao)

Here's a pic of the wonderful, inspiring T-shirts that Hangin' had made for each of us...

mooselips 10-20-2008 08:26 AM

(Gosh I'm having a terrible time posting pictures today...sometimes good, sometimes...not so good...)

Hangin' In 10-20-2008 08:29 AM

Thank goodness she didn't post the "fanny" view of that shirt. We realized, after reviewing the pictures, that we had a lot of fanny pictures (pictures taken from the rear). NOT our best side.

Obviously, we should keep our day jobs.

mooselips 10-20-2008 08:49 AM

What day job?

Mine is fanning myself, and eating bon bons.....:lmao

imallright 10-20-2008 06:01 PM

You all are tooooo funny. I long for the day that I can spend some time with good friends like you and just laugh and have fun. BTW, St. Augustine is a great city to do just that... many good memories there for me too!

Impurrfect 10-20-2008 06:07 PM

I really needed this thread today!

Love the pictures. I lived in St. Augustine for a year, and still miss it. Glad you all had a great time.

Oh, and Ann...I've lived in the south my entire life and I STILL don't like grits. Must be because I was born in MN and they forgot to put the "grit gene" in me.

Hugs and prayers!

Amy
