A Codie Vacation...The Live Version
A Codie Vacation...The Live Version
One of the wonderful gifts of recovery here at SR are the friendships we form that can last a short time or a lifetime but are significant to our lives and recovery.
Tuesday I leave for a week in Florida to meet up with CatsPajamas, Hangin' In, Mooselips and Jody Hepler and I know that it is going to be filled with laughter, tears, walks on the beach, and some late night gabbing that may go into the early hours.
We are arriving at various times through the week, at a condo so nicely provide by Hangin' In, and Mooselips and I (who are flying in from two distant cities) will arrive almost the same time and she has suggested that if we can't find each other at the airport "Paging Mooselips....Mooselips please take the phone" should catch her attention....and everyone elses
There will be stories to tell and pictures to share. I am looking forward most of all to our "Before" and "After" pictures at the Fountain of Youth...that just happens to be near where we are staying. My avatar indicates my faith that this Youth stuff will work, ha ha.
So if you notice a few regulars here missing, please know that we are thinking of you all and just having a fabulous Codie Vacation.
Hugs

I could probably handle the raccoons better than the snakes. All you have to do is MENTION the word snake and I'm running in the other direction.
Stay away from the bad critters, okay?
Hugs and prayers!

You sure got that right OTL
This is my first "international" flight since before 09/11/01 and the rules have changed somewhat. I am taking off as Air Canada and then changing into United Airlines mid air (so they tell me here) so I have two sets of rules to follow. Good grief, I can hardly understand even one set. And I am trying to get everything into one bag that I can carry on....it isn't easy but I think if I call Jaws Of Life I can do it.
Now where are my summer jammies and bunny slippers? Who hid them?

Slight correction: Condo belongs to my SIL's grandparents. Very nice of them to let us use it. If the condo were mine, we'd have the whole SR family & friends group over. Of course, we'd be sleeping wall to wall, but what difference does that make when you're with recovering friends, right?
Now, I need an honest opinion. Trying to pack and I need to know if the blue bathing cap detracts from the thick ankles. If not, I'm going NEON GREEN!
Moose said it the other day. One of God's greatest gifts of recovery is the wonderful friends you make along the way. I'm so grateful, SO GRATEFUL for recovery friends who will hold my hand in the darkest hours and then turn around and laugh with me when we've all recovered enough (I was the one bringing up the rear ... ) to realize our HP did give us a life and He expects us to live it to the fullest. Thank you, HP, for these dear friends!
P.S. I'm thinking of videoing Moose and Cats doing their synchronized swimming. Will make for great entertainment and possible blackmail material. (Hey, the character defects do not go away overnight! I'm workin' on it, I'm workin' on it!)
