OT Untangling my hair advice
OT Untangling my hair advice
I got my hair caught in my ceiling fan, i feel like I am in the
nightmare from hell.
It hurts. Oh my head is not still attached I got it out, but I have
had to cut some, it's falling out, and so damn tangled, but I don't
want to cut anymore, and it's a bit tender or a lot. I put olive
oil in it, that helped.
Anyone have any other ideas how to untangle it?
It's been one of those weeks all week long.
I want to cry....

Done, No advice but your story made me think of the time my daughter came to our house and had a fist sized tangle of hair on top of her head from not taking care of herself. She managed by untangling it strand by strand to eventually get it out, even though I never thought she would. Good luck and I am sorry that you are having a bad week. Prayers that next week will bring you nothing but good things. Hugs, Marle

Lots of conditioner, start from the bottom and work up when you comb it. Start out with one of those real large combs.
I'm sorry things are going wrong, I hope they get better soon.
Can I ask how you got your hair in the ceiling fan? You don't have to answer, my curiosity is up.
Hugs

I meant my fan, you know the standing fan....
oh it hurtz to laugh.
My animals were hungry again, so I bent down in the cupboard to grab some
dog food (it's in my room) and I have a standing fan in front of it, and
bada bing bada bam, the fan sucks up my hair....
My head goes flying into the fan, and I am in shock, and finally grab the buttoms to get it turned off, My hair is pretty long right now so its is good
and wrapped (on my right hand side).....
I'm like cussing up a storm, and my cat is meowing at me for his food, and the dog is jumping and turning for her food, and I'm like,
ARE YOU KIDDING ME,, I have tears in my eyes and of course I can't move, I'm stuck to the fan.... Not sure if I should laugh or cry.
So I laughed... Finally grabbed the cord unplugged it and carried it to the mirror , no to the desk to get my scissors and then to the mirror to begin
surgery...... on my head and the fan.....
Then I decided to get the screwedriver and opened it and unwinded some of my hair.....
It hurt like a mo fo.....
and the animals are meowing and barking the whole time....
I was like um kids Mom is bleeding from her scalp go away!!!!
lol, but they did 't care. (ungrateful little things, lol)
It's is kind of funny, thinking about it all. I'm just stressed about my
hair....
and it hurtzzzz..

lol, auto erotic recovery? um, I don't even want to know.....
Yea, I am glad someone asked cause I was picturing my head being
caught in a ceiling fan and that was pretty hysterical...
You ever seen those cats get stuck in one? lol pretty funny...
When I was in like 3rd or 4th grade I accidentally cut off half of my
hair in the paper cutter too....
I need to be more careful..

OMG Done! I am so sorry this happened to you....I agree with the conditioner and large comb, start from the bottom and go slow. I got my hair sucked into the hair dryer once, smelled like burning hair and hurt like hell!

Me too, I was just going to post this! I agree with the above suggestion of conditioner and a wide-toothed comb. It'll take a while, but it's the only way.
Work the conditioner in with your fingers and keep separating with your fingers to avoid the hair breaking, careful with that comb!!!!!... it's what we do with the horses tails!!!! Oh my! Sure it hurt, but have to admit... can't help but smile a bit. Have a good day and best of luck!!!!!
I can confess now Done. When I first read your post. I laughed. (I'm sorry) but the image of your hair caught up in the ceiling fan and the wild thoughts that raced through my mind on HOW could you get it caught in the ceiling fan, well, lets just say I laughed hard and thought, That's our Done, if anyone can do the impossible, she can. LOL We love you dearly Done.
Maybe this is a perfect opportunity to go with a new hair style. Try something wild and crazy. At the very least Done, I think HP was trying to make you have a "YOU" day, you need to go pamper yourself, and don't give any excuses for why you can't, go pamper yourself today.
Thank you so much for clarifying which fan.
Love you Girl

Well, Done...I confess that the first description with the ceiling fan made perfect sense to me! I've been there...Not quite with the hair tangled up, but I darn near took myself out. I was hanging pictures in the guest room - had the ceiling fan on high and was using the bed for my ladder...Kinda forgot it was there and on, turned around while walking on the bed...ouch...knocked over. My daughter happened to be walking by down the hall and almost lost it...she couldn't believe i did it. So I can definitely visualize doing the same but having the hair go instead. Poor Done..I'm sorry it must have hurt like crazy.
Don't want to be a commerical here, but there is a certain pink bottle of leave in conditioner put out under the B** Head name. it is called Superstar and it is amazing as a detangler and conditioner. It really helps with the breakage, etc. I 've been using it for a few months - a stylist recommended it. You might want to give it a shot. Somehow with the color of the bottle and the name, I think it was just made for you!

Believe it or not Peanut Butter works well, rub it in and
leave it for a bit..then comb it through gently..it does
take a bit of hair with it (the tangle). I have very thick
red hair and it has worked wonders for me when my hair
gets tangled in the pine trees when forget to pull it into
a pony tail...
Good luck..ouch!!

My 7 yo dd decided to "tease" her hair. I'm not kidding, it was a TANGLED mess, I was scared I'd have to cut it. It seriously was standing pretty much straight on end. I doused her with conditioner and used a wide tooth comb or pick. It came out. Hope you got this taken care of.
