Salvia
So now I found out that my son is buying Salvia on Ebay since it's not illegal in WI. It's very easy to find out what this is used for & how & what the effects can be. I found that on salviashop.net. Does anyone know anything else about it? Anyone have experience w/ it or seen the effects of it? Thanks.
I just know it is a trippy drug. A psychedelic drug, blah, blah, blah, probably not something you'd want to be around from what I have seen about it....
It reminds me of how people act on acid....
Oh, and they are trying to get it passed as legal in more states.
I don't personally have any experience with it though.

I remembered my son telling me about it once (what can I say, he shares more than I am ready to hear sometimes). He said.....its plant leaves ground up to powder, mostly smoked, makes you hallucinate, but short lasting, and is found in tobacco or bong type shops (he said legal here in cali) and the strength differs. He tried it unfortunately, but thankfully didn't develop any desire to again.
I don't think it's of the addictive type. I know that more and more people are trying it. I only know one person who tried it and it's third party info.... and is not something that person does not have the greatest/impulse/craving to do it again.
It is like Acid I suppose. From what I understand, he experienced dis-associative behavior and hallucinations.
From Wiki:
A dissociative is a drug which reduces (or blocks) signals to the conscious mind from other parts of the brain, typically, but not necessarily, limited to the senses. Such a state of sensory deprivation and dissociation can facilitate self-exploration, hallucinations, and dreamlike states of mind which may resemble some psychedelic mindstates. Essentially, similar states of mind can be reached via contrasting paths—psychedelic or dissociative. That said, the entire experience's risks and benefits are markedly different.
The primary dissociatives are similar in action to phencyclidine (PCP), and include ketamine and dextromethorphan (DXM). Also included are nitrous oxide (laughing gas), salvia divinorum, and muscimol from the amanita muscaria (fly agaric) mushroom.
Many dissociatives also have central nervous system depressant effects, thereby carrying similar risks with opioids that slow breathing and lower the heart rate to levels which can result in death, when used in very high doses.
Their effects are characterized by intense feelings of depersonalization, derealization, and analgesia.
Here is art describing the type of "trip".

Reply to Zombiewife: He's 17! I did report the seller, thanx. I even reported my son b/c he got an ebay & paypal account by lying about his age! I'm thru w/ being a "friend" to him! He's deceived & betrayed me for the last time. (Well, I wish it would be the last time!)
Thanks for the message, I much appreciate it!

I also saw this on Ebay. It is illegal to ship to most states, Canada and most of Europe. It is only one type of salvia from what I am told that is used as a sub for "weed". I called my policeman best friend and he never heard of it-but this state is now going to make it illegal also. My gram (105) says it has been around forever. I think if enough people complain to ebay they will take it off. But there are websites that sell the darn stuff also.
I'm actually really thankful he is not experienced in this way, although I know he didn't think it was opium

I don't think it's technically addictive but if you're like me, anything that gives you a head change is a bad idea because it triggers. It's really trippy and really strong. It doesn't last long but is intense. IMO just because something happens to be legal doesn't mean it's a good idea for me to do. Alcohol is legal. Can't do it. Vicodin from my doc is legal. Can't do it. But that's just me.
I tried it a while back. Personally I don't think that it is easily addictive, because the high is really not all that great. (Though, thinking out loud, I tried other things to compare it to.) I DO however think it is dangerous. The high is just so short and really nothing, that I could see as a key to unlock the curiosity to other drugs. Some people might feel they crossed a bridge and now have "permission" to try other drugs now that they tried A drug.
