girl who cried 'wolf'?

After my AD had fight with BF and went missing for a few days (I did very well by not 'catastrophizing' this!), she called last night and says she wants to go to detox and rehab. Well I said, " I'm right in the middle of buying a new car this week. I can't really stop everything and scramble around for you." I wasn't nasty or anything, I just wasn't all happy and excited either - it's like, after 5 times of doing the dance, I'm not expecting much. those 5 times of going into treatment were total failures with the longest stay at 5 days and the shortest at 3 hours. so I gave her a few phone numbers of rehabs to call and left it at that.

Her T cells are down but her viral load 'aint bad right now, she informed me. She is back on HIV meds, thank God. I th ink the dropping Tcells are scaring her, too. I hope she does find a bed and does go. I will find a way to drive her there or at the least, pay an NA pal to take her!

All part of her path towards (eventually) recovery from this awful disease. I'm just bound and determined not to get crazy anymore.

I'm almost convinced that the only way to recovery is to let them find their own way~~~Good for you. It's hard on us moms just steeping aside and praying that the right decisions are made. Hang in there....hugs, Bonnie
