Good Things Do Happen!

My daughter Meghan (RAD) celebrated her 23rd birthday yesterday - and it was such a special day for her (and me). She has been clean and sober since the beginning of this year.

Her court date was Monday .... and yipee..... the judge dismissed the felony charges because of all of the recovery work that she has done. This work was strongly recommended last year by her wonderful lawyer. It was very important that she was not convicted of the felony (2nd DUI)

Meg did everything the lawyer suggested. This included: Enter rehab, enter halfway house, enter 3/4 house, attend meetings daily... and a very important item.... Get a full-time job.... which she did.

She was hired by by a national company a few months ago, and has already received a dollar/ hour raise, and is being groomed for management. They initially would not hire her because of her record. But she was persistent with the hiring process and convinced them that she had never been "convicted" of a felony - which was true at the time.

She is now renting a house along with a few other RA's a few miles from my house.
She is working her program - and I am working mine.

She needs to wear sunglasses because her future looks so bright.

OK, I know - If only for today!
But, I so enjoyed today (yesterday)

Hugs to all!

Fantastic! Congrats to you and your daughter both for each doing such a terrific job on your repective recoveries!

I just spent the evening with my daughter in recovery as well. She and her dad took me out for my birthday. Earlier in the day she sent me a beautiful email at work (from her work - great job with wonderful prospects too) thanking me for my love and support and sent flowers to my office. She bought me a beautiful butterfly wall decoration too. The gifts are lovely, but the gift of her love and her sobriety is the most precious of all. I am so grateful for having my beautiful daughter back and am enjoying every precious moment.

I know you are too Colleen - there is always hope; the miracle is right around the corner.

Thank you all for sharing in Meghan recovery.

I really believe that she was able to look to her HP and follow his guidance when I got out of the way....
it will work --- if you work it!

Hugs,
