If you could spare a prayer
It doesn't surprise me about GA. I have a friend who was charged with stalking, family violence, and selling marijuana....the one he got 7 years for was the marijuana (I do NOT condone the other charges, but don't actually know all the circumstances).
The good thing about GA, though, is he should probably get out in half the time or less. I know my best friend was sentenced to 10 years...did 1, and several other cases where they don't have to do the full time.
One more reason I am doing my best to NOT get in any more trouble...I would be the one with a longer sentence!
Hugs and prayers!

How sad for both of them - prayers coming their way. Sometimes it is so hard for me to accept, when HP doesn't do it "my way". Hopefully, it ain't over until it is over - and more will be revealed!

((((Frankly)))) Thanks for that info...It makes more sense now. The lawyer did say somethign about trying something to get him out by Christamas. I haven't spoken to my friend since she met again with the lawyer...I don't know what decisions her son has made; to keep him or try someone else. I just feel so sad for them.
(((Greet))) - Once he gets in the system, they will give his family a number to call for "tentative parole date"...it usually takes about a month, because he will be in diagnostics in Jackson until they place him in a prison (it's still a prison, but where everyone goes when they first get sentenced). There is also a website for GA dept. of corrections, that may give her some info.
Unfortunately, I still have 2 friends in prison, so am learning about the "system".
I hope he does get out soon....that sentence was way too harsh.
Hugs and prayers!
