I have learned that sometimes the most loving, caring thing we can do is let go. It is hard, but we can get better and sometimes, out addicts do also.

sorry he hurt you again,

I hate this for you - I grew in ways I never thought I wanted to, through chronic relapses or just plain old using again from my AS. One day I realized that I was done. Enough was enough.

And I started to let go and detach in a more complete way, no collect phone calls, no money, no coming to my house - and I got on with my life. Learned that I could be happy and ok whether or not he was using. I never really knew that before - I was just so addicted to him and the chaos and drama.

We just can't do it for them. I picture our HP on the front of a train going down the track - and if I can just get out of the way He can work his magic. So I did - and He did!

Love in recovery,
Dottie Lou
