Talking She did it !!

Yesterday my RAD had 12 months clean. Yippee!! Tonight was her home group meeting & she shared. She did a wonderful job. She really got the message out there. She was so dreading talking in front of everyone like that. But I'll tell ya, she talked for 15- 20 minuets. There are some amazing people in her group, & they so love her. I didn't realize that the 12 month chip was passed around the room & each person held it & prayed silently as the meeting went on. It was pretty neat. So that chip has about 25 prayers on it. I am soooo proud of her. I seriously wasn't sure this day would come. I truley thought I would loose her. I want you guys to know it is possable. Just hang on, don't give up.

I am so happy for you and your daughter, Helpus. I can just feel how proud you are.
What a relief it is for a parent. I know there is recovery everyday. My daughter has been off of drugs for 9 months now. I am really proud of her also. She recently had a relapse with alcohol but she is doing good again. She has come a long way. We have had our ups and downs but she is working two jobs and really working at putting her life together. She wants to get out on her own and I want her to also. Everything takes time but I feel that she is going to be okay.

Love and blessings to you and your daughter...........Lo

Many congrats for her! Everything she's learned will benefit others. There is a Hebrew proverb that says:

"To save one life is as if you have saved the world"

Every time our addicts save themselves they are saving the world

((((HELPUS)))) How wonderful that you got your daughter back and she is becoming the fabulous woman she was meant to be.
You've both been through a lot.
What a celebration. She has two birthdays now; both equally important.
So happy for you and your family.

I can feel the joy in your heart and love these messages of hope. What a wonderful idea about adding prayers to the medallion, I really like that.

It's such a blessing to see someone so completely transformed after all they have been through with their addiction. And at one year, they know they must be vigilant and that alone makes them so much wiser.

Hugs to both of you, and a big thank you for filling my heart with gratitude and hope today.

Happy Sobriety Birthday to Helpus' Daughter!!!!

Congratulations to her.

Helpus - so glad for you and for her - that is wonderful, awesome news - I love it when people pray over those chips.

Several yrs ago, my baby brother allowed me to give him - his 9yr chip then later that night after the celebration - he turned around and gave me back the chip and said because you mean so much to me sis and I'm so glad you're in al-anon now.

I keep that chip in my vehicle where I see it daily - to pray for him, for the A's in my family and for all the other A's out there - those in sobriety that it may continue and those still suffering - so that they may find the path to recovery.

Wonderful news!!!!!
You both have so much to be thankful for, and you've come such a loooong way. I hope you really celebrated the occasion. And I think the prayers on her chip was a wonderful idea.
A year! I can't believe it!!!! A long, hard year, but so much better than the preceding ones, I'm sure.
Now when is the wedding????
