Facing reality
Hello all.
I am new to this site but I am facing reality and needing to share my story.
I have an AH who has been in recovery for 10 and half years that is, unitl last Friday.
We both had become too comfortable with the idea that we have power over the disease of addiction.
The stark reality has slapped us both in the face!
My higher power has been shoving things in my face for the last few months and I have been pushing it away!!!Denial!!!!Denial!!!
I am here humbly accepting that I am powerless over this disease we call addiction and praise be to my higher power for the cold hard truth Amen!
Thanks for letting me share and it is back to square one for me.

Welcome to SR!!
I am a recovering addict and recovering codie and know that I have to remember that addiction is always going to be part of my life, and I don't have to like it, but I darn sure better respect it!
Read some of the posts here, and get comfortable....lots of wonderful people here. I haven't face anything in my life, yet, that someone here wasn't able to help me get through it.
Hugs and prayers!
Amy
